The Union Vaudoise des Associations Msulmanes (Uvam) is sticking to its defamation lawsuit against the well-known Islam critic Saïda Keller-Messahli. The Association of Islamic Organizations in Zurich (Vioz), on the other hand, has decided not to take any further action.

Keller-Messahli had criticized the two mosque associations in an interview: They were infiltrated by the Islamist movement of the Muslim Brotherhood, some of which are classified as terrorist, she told "Le Matin Dimanche", which belongs to the TA Group.
Following a complaint by Uvam and Vioz, the Zurich public prosecutor's office brought charges of defamation. However, the Zurich District Court rejected the charges - which would have to be directed not only against Keller-Messahli, but also against the journalist and the media company.
However, the Zurich umbrella organization does not want to extend the charges, as it announced on Tuesday. It is not against the journalist in this matter. The Vaud umbrella organization, on the other hand, is insisting on a legal decision; it wants to supplement the complaint.
