The Valais cantonal police have arrested three people following a robbery at the SBB counter in Martigny. The arrests were made on Saturday in an apartment in Martigny, as the police announced on Tuesday. The suspects are two men aged 33 and 38 and a 32-year-old woman, all from Morocco.
One of the men is suspected of threatening the staff at the SBB ticket office at the station before fleeing with an unknown amount of loot. Fortunately, no one was injured in the robbery. The public prosecutor's office has opened a criminal investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.
Investigations and arrests
The investigation by the police and the public prosecutor's office led to the identification and arrest of the alleged perpetrators. The police emphasized that the arrests were the result of intensive investigative work. No further details of the case were initially released.
Uncertainties and unanswered questions
According to the police last Friday, a second person may have been waiting in a vehicle near the station during the robbery. The investigation into this possible involvement is ongoing and police have not yet released any further information.
