Northern Switzerland Unconscious man evacuated from apartment on fire

A man was injured in an apartment fire in an apartment building in Oberkulm AG on Saturday morning. The fire department found the 41-year-old unconscious in his apartment and was able to bring him to safety.

The report of heavy smoke from an apartment was received by the emergency call center at 8:20 a.m., according to the Aargau cantonal police. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire quickly. The man was taken to hospital on suspicion of smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. According to initial findings, the fire broke out near the hob. The amount of property damage is also not known.
