Two unknown men attacked and robbed a 93-year-old pensioner in her home in Muttenz BL on Friday. The victim was unharmed. A manhunt for the alleged perpetrators has so far been unsuccessful, according to the Basel police.

The two men rang the doorbell of the elderly woman's house shortly before 11.00 a.m. and pretended to be workmen. Under a pretext, they persuaded the resident to grant them access, according to the press release.

The two fake tradesmen locked the senior citizen in a room and fled in an unknown direction with cash and jewelry. The pensioner was then able to free herself, according to the statement.
