Road accident Truck overturns in an accident in Berlingen TG

A truck driver caused an accident in Berlingen TG on Wednesday. He left the road on a bend with his articulated truck loaded with chopped maize, causing it to overturn on the sloping terrain. The 20-year-old driver was taken to hospital with injuries.

Diesel oil leaked from the vehicle, wrote the Thurgau cantonal police in a statement on Thursday. An official from the cantonal office for the environment ordered the contaminated soil to be removed.

The roads between Raperswilen and Berlingen had to be closed for several hours while the accident was being investigated and recovery work carried out.
