It's the day before the world's biggest pop phenomenon performs in Switzerland for the first time. On Tuesday and Wednesday, US megastar Taylor Swift is giving two concerts at Zurich's Letzigrund as part of her "Eras" tour.

Around 96,000 visitors from Switzerland and abroad are expected to attend the two shows. However, it is unclear how many people will make the pilgrimage to the stadium without a ticket. The city of Zurich has responded to the expected onslaught by cordoning off a large area.

The merchandise stand on Zurich's Turbinenplatz already opened on Monday morning. And the Swifties, as the fans are known, were not slow to arrive: a long queue formed at the opening at 10 a.m., which grew longer and longer as the day progressed.

Taylor Swift will be spending the night at the luxury Mandarin Oriental Savoy hotel on Paradeplatz, which the singer has booked for herself and her entourage. A few die-hard fans have already gathered outside the hotel entrance in the hope of catching a glimpse of their idol.

Watch the video to find out what the Swifties are paying for the concert experience in Zurich, why the show brings friends from different countries together and why some people without tickets are not deterred by the announced exclusion zone.
