Vandalism Solothurn police catch suspected stone throwers from Luterbach

The Solothurn cantonal police have stopped three young people they suspect of throwing stones at vehicles from a highway bridge. All three were provisionally detained for further investigation and questioned about the matter.

The youth police and the youth prosecutor's office of the canton of Solothurn have opened criminal proceedings for damage to property and endangering life, as the police of the canton of Solothurn announced on Saturday.

Early on Friday morning, the police received a report that two people in dark clothing had thrown stones and other objects onto the A5 highway from the bridge. In the night to Saturday, the Solothurn cantonal police alarm center received more such reports.

As a result, the police immediately launched a manhunt and were able to stop two minors near the highway a short time later. The police did not specify their age. They are a female minor and a male minor.

In the course of further investigations, the police were able to stop a third minor.

As far as the police know so far, no one was injured by the stones thrown. At least three vehicles were damaged on Friday and at least five on Saturday.
