The Graubünden cantonal police arrested a money courier from a suspected fraudster group in Landquart on Tuesday. Unidentified persons wanted to tell a 62-year-old woman a false story and persuade her to make a payment. Not only she, but also the courier was apparently misled, as the police reported on Friday.

The 62-year-old woman received a call from an alleged bank security service on Tuesday afternoon. He pretended that her account had been debited with an amount for a television. However, the bank stopped the transaction in time when she realized that her signature had been forged. A fake police officer then asked the woman to withdraw several thousand francs from her account in order to help investigate a counterfeit money scam, according to the press release.
The woman withdrew the money and waited at home for the courier to arrive. However, she became suspicious and informed the real police. When they arrested a 29-year-old Romanian in front of her house, it turned out that he did not know what he was transporting. He had responded to a Facebook advertisement for this first job. He had also been offered the prospect of an employment contract, according to the report.
