Arrest Police arrest man after robbery in Amriswil TG

The Thurgau cantonal police have arrested a 43-year-old Turkish man. He is suspected of assaulting and robbing a woman in her family home last Monday.

The man forced his way into the house between 8 and 9 p.m. on August 5 and overpowered the occupant, as the Thurgau cantonal police wrote in a statement. The woman suffered moderate injuries when she fought back. She was taken to hospital.

The alleged perpetrator stole cash and valuables. He then fled the scene. The arrested suspect can be attributed to the victim's private circle, the statement continued.

The public prosecutor's office in Bischofszell has applied to the compulsory measures court for the suspect to be remanded in custody.
