University of Applied Sciences New FHNW year begins with more students

The new academic year begins next Monday for around 13,850 students at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). According to the FHNW, there are around 250 more students starting than a year ago.

The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland has also recorded an increase in new admissions with 4390 students, as the FHNW announced on Friday. The increase amounted to four percent.

The FHNW comprises nine universities with the faculties of Applied Psychology, Architecture, Construction and Geomatics, Design and Art, Life Sciences, Music, Teacher Education, Social Work, Engineering and Business.

The FHNW campuses are located in the four sponsoring cantons of Aargau, Basel-Landschaft, Basel-Stadt and Solothurn. Around 1,300 lecturers impart knowledge in 34 Bachelor's and 24 Master's degree programs as well as in continuing education courses, according to the press release.
