Fire incident Major fire department operation in Oberägeri ZG due to burnt food

Burnt food in an apartment building in Oberägeri ZG triggered a major fire department operation on Saturday night. A resident of the property had to be taken to hospital with smoke inhalation, as reported by the Zug law enforcement authorities on Saturday.

The emergency services were alerted shortly before 2.30 a.m. due to heavy smoke in an apartment building on Hofmattstrasse. A breathing apparatus unit rescued a 35-year-old man. He was taken to hospital.

Other residents were also medically examined. However, they escaped unharmed. According to the press release, the property was cleared of smoke and thus remained habitable.

A total of 55 firefighters and members of the ambulance and police services were deployed.
