On Wednesday, the last day of the September session, the St. Gallen Cantonal Council

- referred a standing request calling on the Federal Council to enter into negotiations with the EU on re-entry into the Erasmus+ education and research program;

- when dealing with a procedural motion, the Wattwil renovation project was discussed at length. There was criticism from the ranks of the FDP, Center Party and SVP. The population did not feel understood, they said. A redimensioned alternative was missing. It was also a question of protecting private property and agricultural land. Construction manager Susanne Hartmann (center) made it clear that numerous variants had been examined in recent years;

- various petitions had been dealt with and resolved;

- In undisputed final votes, a resolution on the seat of government on the Board of Trustees of the Switzerland Innovation Foundation and a special loan for start-up financing were definitively approved.
