Baths Bueber in Bern's Marzili gets a new outlet gate

This fall, an outlet gate will be installed under the wooden walkway between the Bueber and the Aare in the Marzilibad. This was announced by the City of Bern on Tuesday. The measure is being carried out in connection with the protection of areas along the Aare.

Voters approved the proposal in November 2023. The outlet gate that is now being installed is a steel sliding gate. Like the one at the beginning of the floating canal, it can be closed from a certain flood level.

To install the gate, the wooden structure of the jetty has to be partially dismantled. The work will begin next Monday (September 30) and should be completed before Christmas.

During this time, according to the city, there will be partial closures at the outflow ramp next to the Dalmazi Bridge and inside the Bueber.
