Police caught thieves stealing pallets in Lenzburg AG on Saturday night. After a short escape, two people were arrested.

A patrol of the Lenzburg regional police noticed a suspicious delivery van with the loading ramp open in Lenzburg at 01:30 on Saturday night, the Aargau cantonal police reported on Saturday. Two people fled when they noticed the police patrol. After a short manhunt, two men suspected of the crime were arrested by the Lenzburg regional police.

They were a 22-year-old Swiss national and a 19-year-old Sri Lankan. There were several pallets in their van, and further pallets were waiting to be loaded in front of a property, according to the statement. It is strongly suspected that the arrested men intended to steal these pallets worth several thousand francs.

Investigations launched during the night indicated that a third person had been involved in the attempted theft. On Saturday morning, shortly after 11:00 a.m., another man suspected of the crime was arrested. He is a 20-year-old Swiss national.

The Aargau cantonal police are investigating. The public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation.
