Body found Afghan missing since the beginning of August recovered dead from the Aare

The body recovered from the River Aare in Bern on Sunday afternoon was that of an Afghan man who had been missing in the river since August 5. As the cantonal police announced on Thursday, they have opened an investigation into the death of the 24-year-old.

These are intended to clarify the circumstances of his death. The body was recovered by third parties and emergency services at the Bärenpark. The investigation into the victim's identity revealed that the 24-year-old had lived in Sweden.
