A patrol of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) seized around 50 stolen cell phones during a vehicle check in Rafz ZH in the border area with Germany on Sunday night. The four occupants of the car were arrested.

The car was noticed by the patrol after midnight in Rafzerfeld, according to the Zurich cantonal police. The driver had tried to evade control, but had not succeeded.

The occupants of the car, four Colombians aged between 32 and 38, were arrested on the spot. During the subsequent vehicle check, around 50 cell phones, around 800 euros in cash and other items indicating pickpocketing were seized.

On suspicion that the four men had committed pickpocketing at the Street Parade, they were handed over to the Zurich cantonal police for further investigation. During the investigation and questioning, the first reports were received from victims who were able to locate their cell phones, which had been brought to the Zurich Police and Justice Center in the meantime.
