Tourism Swiss hotel industry with significantly more overnight stays in November
The Swiss hotel industry recorded significantly more overnight stays in November. The industry remains on course for a record year.

The number of overnight stays increased by 6.1 percent in November compared to the previous year, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) on Monday based on an initial estimate. In the previous month of October, an increase of 0.3 percent was reported.
The increase in November is due to strong growth among domestic guests. Overnight stays increased by 7.9 percent compared to the same month last year. There was also an increase of 4.1 percent for visitors. However, November is not a particularly important month for the local industry.
From January to October, overnight stays increased by a total of 1.7% to 37.0 million. Following the strong month of November, the industry is therefore still on course to exceed the record figure of 41.8 million overnight stays from the previous year.
