A Swiss plane had to abort its flight from Zurich to Berlin on Friday. The pilots had detected an unusual odor in the cockpit, according to the Swiss media office.

The plane returned to Zurich, a Swiss media spokeswoman confirmed a report by the portal 20min.ch. Passengers and crew are safe and well, according to the spokesperson. The plane made a safe landing without any problems.

The passengers were able to leave the plane again at around 08:20. Alternative connections are being sought for them. Among other things, the midday flight will be operated with a larger aircraft.
