In terms of countries of origin, guests from Germany made up the largest group at 16 percent, followed by Italy (13 percent), the USA (11 percent) and Austria (9 percent), the museum announced.

For Director Monika Pessler, the exhibition "The Uncanny. Sigmund Freud and Art" contributed significantly to the success of the exhibition. For 2025, the museum is dedicating an online exhibition to the annual theme of "Being Human", among other things.

The special exhibition "The Freud Case. Documents of Injustice" shows new archive finds on the history of the expulsion and extermination of the family of the founder of psychoanalysis. The Sigmund Freud Lecture on May 6, 2025, Freud's birthday, will be given by the South African writer and Nobel Prize winner J. M. Coetzee.

The museum has been located in Sigmund Freud's former living and working quarters since 1971 and was reopened in 2020 after extensive renovation and expansion.
