A pizzeria in the UK is charging 100 pounds for a pizza topped with pineapple. This has reignited the controversy over whether the fruit belongs on a pizza.

The Lupa Pizza restaurant in Norwich, East England, normally charges around 12 pounds (13.40 francs) for a dish. But if you order a pizza with pineapple from the restaurant via the delivery service Deliveroo, you will pay the equivalent of around 111 francs.

"Yes, you can have it for 100 pounds. Order the champagne too. Go on, you monster!" the order menu says.

The restaurant's actions reignited a long-simmering debate in which even former British Chancellor of the Exchequer Ed Balls was moved to say that pineapple on pizza was appalling. The restaurant itself stated on Facebook on Wednesday: "We look forward to an influx of pro and anti-pineapple activists voting with their feet and wallets."
