In St. Gallen, it was the warmest January day since records began. The thermometer rose to 16.2 degrees. In Kloten ZH, it was the second warmest January day in the series measured since 1864, as reported by MeteoSwiss, the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology, on the short message service X.
The third-highest January value in recorded weather history was registered in Aadorf TG. Even at 2000 meters above sea level, the mercury column climbed to 5 degrees according to MeteoSwiss.
