Since December, travelers and day trippers have been able to buy the new "Municipal Savings Day Pass" for public transport in Switzerland. The three partners of the offer have drawn a positive balance. So far, 1070 municipalities and towns offer the day pass.

This is roughly the same number of providers as when the municipal day pass was previously sold. This information was provided by the public transport industry organization Alliance SwissPass, the Swiss Association of Municipalities and the Swiss Association of Cities at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. Expectations had been exceeded.

On some days, the contingents of 3000 to 4000 tickets offered throughout Switzerland were sold out. The personalized tickets are available in two price levels with and without a Half-Fare travelcard. They are cheaper up to ten days before the trip.

The municipalities and cities decide for themselves whether to offer the tickets. They only have to pay for the tickets actually sold. After almost two decades, the "Municipal Savings Day Pass" has replaced the classic municipal day pass.
