Migros has discontinued its Yuno rental portal. 22 employees are losing their jobs.

The decision was made to discontinue Yuno as part of the strategic focus on the core business, explained Migros on Friday in response to a corresponding report in the CH Media newspapers. The closure had already been communicated via the website in August.

Prior to this, Migros had evaluated various solutions for the future, with a controlled closure proving to be the best option. Job cuts were therefore unavoidable.

Migros emphasized that all contracts would be continued until the end of the contract. However, new contracts could no longer be concluded. The Yuno website will remain online as long as there are still ongoing contracts with customers.

Yuno was launched in 2021, and a year later Migros said it had invested a single-digit million amount in the startup. Yuno wanted to convince its customers to rent a cell phone or computer instead of buying one.
