Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of another war crime. The occupying forces had attacked a vehicle belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Donetsk region.

Three people were killed and two others injured in the Russian strike. Selenskyj published a photo of a Red Cross truck engulfed in flames. "In this war, everything is absolutely clear - Russia is sowing evil, Ukraine is defending life," Zelensky posted on the social network X.

The head of state once again called for a response from states and international organizations to Russia's violence. "Only together can the world force Russia to end this terror and persuade Moscow to make peace," he said.

Kiev: Grain ship hit by missile

At X, the head of state also announced that Russia had attacked a civilian cargo ship loaded with wheat for Egypt with a missile after it had left Ukrainian territorial waters in the Black Sea. There had been no casualties.

Selensky once again emphasized the importance of Ukrainian grain exports for the world's food supply and called for an international response. "Wheat and food security should never be targets of missiles," he said. The information was not independently verifiable.

Help from Estonia and Latvia

Zelensky also received Estonian President Alar Karis in Kiev, whom he thanked for the arms aid. The Baltic EU and NATO member had agreed to make 0.25 percent of its annual gross domestic product available to Ukraine for its defense requirements.

The talks also covered the country's reconstruction and EU course. The Latvian head of government Evika Silina also promised further assistance at a meeting with Selenskyj.

Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian war of aggression for more than two and a half years with Western help. Dozens of states are supporting the country in its fight against the Russian occupiers.
