Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also expected to meet with US President Joe Biden during his visit to Washington next week. "We anticipate that the two leaders will have the opportunity to meet while Prime Minister Netanyahu is in town," said National Security Council Communications Director John Kirby.

He could not give any details as yet. Biden's recovery is a priority and could still affect the president's schedule, Kirby said. Biden has been infected with the coronavirus and is currently in domestic isolation at his private home in Rehoboth, Delaware.

Netanyahu plans to address both chambers of the US Congress next Wednesday on Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip. The leaders of both parties in parliament had invited Netanyahu to do so. Biden and Netanyahu last met in person in Tel Aviv last fall, shortly after the Hamas attacks on October 7.
