Francis is continuing oxygen ventilation therapy. At the same time, mechanical, non-invasive ventilation is gradually being reduced during the night.

The Holy Father still requires medical treatment in hospital, the bulletin said. He is receiving physiotherapy for his breathing and motor skills. There are further gradual improvements in these therapies.

It is not possible to predict when the Pope will be able to leave hospital again. However, according to a statement from the Holy See on Saturday, he continued his official duties to a limited extent: he appointed apostolic nuncios (ambassadors) in Burkina Faso and Chile as well as an auxiliary bishop in Hung Hoá (Vietnam).
