Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump plans to appear again in early October at the location in the state of Pennsylvania where he was the victim of an assassination attempt in mid-July.

The former president's campaign team has announced a rally for October 5 at the site in Butler where he was shot. The 78-year-old wanted to remember the man who was killed in the attack and the two people who were injured. He also wanted to thank the security and rescue services for their efforts.

An assassin had shot at Trump at a Republican Party campaign event in Butler in July. One visitor died and two others were injured. Trump was injured by a bullet to his right ear. The perpetrator was killed by security forces.

One story became many

In July, shortly after the attack, Trump appeared at the Republican Party convention in Milwaukee, where he was ceremonially elected as the party's presidential candidate. There he spoke at length about the attack on him and explained: "You won't hear it from me a second time because it's actually too painful to tell." In fact, hardly a campaign appearance goes by without Trump mentioning the attack. He often emphasizes that he "took a bullet for democracy".

There was another incident just a few days ago: The Secret Service shot at an armed man at Trump's golf course in the state of Florida, who had been hiding in the bushes while the ex-president was playing there. The suspect himself did not fire a bullet and fled, but was arrested and charged shortly afterwards. The authorities assume that he also wanted to assassinate Trump.
