On the third day of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, around 280 trucks brought further aid supplies and fuel from Egypt to the coastal area.

A representative of the Egyptian Red Crescent told the German Press Agency that they had driven to Gaza via the Kerem Shalom border crossing, which is controlled by Israel. Among them were 25 trucks with fuel.

As part of the ceasefire between Israel and the Islamist Hamas, humanitarian aid from Egypt is once again arriving in Gaza. The trucks first drive to the Rafah border crossing and from there on to the Kerem Shalom crossing a few kilometers away. There they are inspected and the goods are released for distribution in Gaza.

Since the ceasefire began on Sunday, more than 1,700 trucks have delivered relief supplies and fuel from Egypt to the Gaza Strip, said the representative of the aid organization. Around 4,000 trucks were still ready to enter the area step by step. For the first time in 270 days, ambulances were also waiting there to receive injured Palestinians.
