Following the expiry of an important deadline in the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon, there are tensions and partial shelling in the south of the country. At least one person has been killed by Israeli fire - 17 others have been injured, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Residents had tried to return to their homes in the Kafr Kila area, among other places, contrary to Israeli orders.

Since the early morning, residents have been gathering in places in the south near the Israeli border, as the state agency NNA reported. Photos and videos of residents with yellow Hezbollah flags made the rounds on social media. In one video, a group of residents came to a halt in front of an Israeli tank, while others gathered in front of Israeli army blockades on country roads. There were traffic jams in some places.

The Israeli army warned residents not to return to their homes and accused Hezbollah of stoking tensions. Information would be provided about places for a safe return in the south. "Until then, we ask you to wait and see." Previous orders on inaccessible areas remain effective.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had already announced that the withdrawal of the army from southern Lebanon planned for today would be delayed. Netanyahu's office announced that Lebanon had not fully implemented its part of the agreement, namely the rapid deployment of its own army. This is intended to ensure compliance with the ceasefire and prevent Hezbollah from returning. The Lebanese army, on the other hand, stated that it had not yet been able to deploy its troops in the south as agreed.
