South Korea's detained President Yoon Suk Yeol has again refused to testify to allegations that he tried to incite a riot and abused his office. He remained silent during further questioning by the Corruption Investigation Bureau for Senior Officials (CIO), as reported by the official Yonhap news agency.

A lawyer for the 64-year-old said that Yoon had made his position clear to the investigators. In a video message, Yoon had classified the investigations as illegal.
He is also having the legality of his arrest reviewed by a court in Seoul via his lawyers. A decision in this regard is expected on Thursday. If the court finds Yoon's detention unlawful, he would be released from custody.
The suspended president was arrested in the capital Seoul on Wednesday morning. The background to this is that Yoon briefly imposed martial law on South Korea at the beginning of December in the course of a budget dispute with the opposition - which caused outrage at home and abroad.
