Following heavy Russian attacks on Ukraine, several regions have lost power. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi this morning on Platform X. He spoke of more than 70 missiles - including ballistic missiles - and more than 100 drones that Russia had fired at the country. The target was the energy infrastructure. "They are continuing to fight for a blackout in Ukraine", Selensky accused the Russians.

The information cannot be independently verified.

According to preliminary reports, more than 50 missiles and a "significant" number of drones had been intercepted, Selensky announced. However, not all attacks could have been repelled. Technicians were working to restore the power supply as quickly as possible.

There had been a nationwide air alert in Ukraine. Selensky accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of deliberately ordering the attacks at Christmas. "What could be more inhumane?" he asked.
