In parts of the western Ukrainian city of Ternopil, the power went out due to a hit, as mayor Serhij Nadal announced. One person was killed in the attack and four people were injured.

A power supply facility was also attacked in the western Ukrainian region of Rivne. According to the air force in Kiev, 22 of 28 attacking drones had been intercepted over Ukraine by the morning.

Drone war is changing

According to the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russian drone war against Ukraine has changed in recent months. Russia is producing more Iranian-style Shahed drones and often deploys 80 to 100 of them at night.

At the same time, Ukraine has been able to strengthen its electronic defenses. A larger proportion of the drones are not shot down, but electronically jammed, brought to land or diverted. The number of Russian combat drones diverted to Belarus has increased.
