Israel Reports of numerous casualties in new attack in northern Gaza

According to Palestinian reports, there have again been numerous casualties in Israeli attacks in the north of the Gaza Strip.

According to the local civil defense, many people were killed and injured when houses in the refugee district of Jabaliya were bombed. It was difficult to obtain more precise information because access to the area sealed off by the military is extremely restricted.

An Israeli army spokesperson stated that the military was not aware of any such incident according to initial investigations. The casualty figures cited by sources close to the Hamas terrorist organization are false and do not correspond to the information provided by the military.

Meanwhile, the situation for civilians in the embattled refugee district of Jabaliya is desperate. Due to hunger and fear of fighting, some of the people are making the dangerous journey south through the war zone, residents had previously told the German Press Agency on the phone. According to the Israeli army, thousands of civilians have already left Jabaliya in the last few days following appeals to do so.

Israel has been trying to destroy the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip since the massacre in Israel in October 2023, which left 1,200 dead and 250 displaced. According to Palestinian figures, more than 42,800 people have been killed and more than 100,000 others injured, mostly civilians, in the densely populated area.
