If elections had been held again around a year after the federal elections, the SVP would have been the winner. According to a recent survey by the Sotomo research center, the other parties would have been able to maintain or slightly lose their share of the electorate.

According to the election barometer published on Monday, the SVP would have received 29.9% of the vote. This corresponds to an increase of 2 percentage points compared to the result of the 2023 elections, when the party had already gained 2.3 percentage points.

According to the survey, the SP would have been the second strongest party with 17.8% of the vote. The Social Democrats would have lost 0.5 percentage points.

The FDP and the Center Party would have been able to maintain their results of 14.3% and 14.1% respectively. In contrast, the Greens would have suffered losses with 9.5 percent (-0.5) and the Green Liberals with 6.6 percent (-1).

The survey was based on information from 4467 eligible voters. They were able to take part in the online survey between October 28 and November 11. The data was then weighted so that it is representative of the active voting population. According to Sotomo, the survey is comparable to a random sample with a sampling error of +/-1.5 percentage points.
