In connection with the Russian attacks on Ukraine, an undefined "flying object" apparently landed on Polish territory and was detected by Polish radar. This was announced in Warsaw by General Maciej Klisz, the commander of the Polish army.

The PAP news agency then quoted Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk as saying that there was no immediate danger to the Polish population.

At least three radar stations had detected the presumably unmanned object, Klisz said at a press briefing. It was "completely under control" and could have been shot down if necessary. The object had crossed the Polish border near the Ukrainian town of Chervonohrad at 6.43 am. Chervonohrad had repeatedly been the target of Russian air strikes because of a power plant located there. However, it was initially unclear in the afternoon whether the object had already left Polish airspace.

PAP had already reported in the morning that the Polish military had sent up interceptors due to the proximity of massive Russian air attacks to the Polish border. Aircraft from other allies were also reportedly involved in the operation.
