At least ten people have been killed in attacks by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, according to the Ministry of Health, which is controlled by the Islamist Hamas.

In the morning, residential buildings and the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia in the north of the coastal strip were shelled. The information from the area, which has been embattled for more than 14 months, could not initially be independently verified.

The intensive care unit in the hospital was hit and caught fire, its director Hussam Abu Safeia told the Palestinian news agency Wafa. The patients had miraculously been saved, but the situation was catastrophic. The Israeli army said on request that it was examining the report.

The war was triggered by the massacre by Palestinian terrorists in Israel on October 7, 2023, which left 1,200 dead and around 250 displaced. Israel has been fighting in the sealed-off area ever since. According to the Hamas authorities, more than 45,000 Palestinian civilians and fighters have died so far. More than 107,000 people have been injured.
