The girl was hit in the head, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah announced. She finally succumbed to her serious injuries in a clinic in the evening, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

On request, Israel's army announced that it had carried out a raid in a village near Jenin. Militants had barricaded themselves in a house there and Israeli soldiers had shot at them. The army is investigating reports that "uninvolved civilians were injured by the shots".

According to Palestinian reports, there were clashes with Palestinians during the army operation. Israeli soldiers also arrested several people.

Israeli military still deployed in Jenin

According to Palestinian reports, the Israeli army operation in the Jenin area in the northern West Bank is now continuing for the fifth day in a row. According to Wafa, 15 people have been killed so far. It is the largest operation in a long time in the city, which is considered a stronghold of Palestinian militants.

The already tense situation in the West Bank has worsened significantly since the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023 and the resulting Gaza war. Since then, according to the Ministry of Health, 833 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military operations, armed clashes and attacks by extremists. At the same time, there has been increased violence by radical Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians.
