For the third day in a row, Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip have fired rockets at Israel. The Israeli army reported that five rockets flew from the northern Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. The missile defense intercepted two of them and the rest hit open areas.

Previously, there had been a rocket alert in the border town of Sderot. According to police reports, rocket fragments hit two locations in the town. There were initially no reports of possible casualties.

According to media reports, a total of eight rockets have been fired from the Gaza Strip since Friday. The rockets were fired from Beit Hanun, where the army had recently launched a new operation against the Islamist Hamas.
