According to activists in Syria, one person has been killed in a suspected Israeli drone attack. The attack took place near the international airport in the capital Damascus, as reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The victim is said to have been an Iraqi citizen. Another person was also injured. Both are said to have been members of the pro-Iranian militia Kataib Hezbollah from Iraq. As usual, the Israeli military did not comment.

Israel's air force repeatedly bombs targets in neighboring Syria in order to prevent Iran and its allied militias from expanding their military influence in the country. The attacks have increased since the start of the Gaza war almost a year ago. The killing of high-ranking Iranian generals in Syria has brought Iran and Israel to the brink of open war several times this year.
