On Tuesday, his wife was arrested on suspicion of murder and is now in custody, as reported byBild. The investigation led to a luxurious riding stables that Annegret B. had taken over from her father.
On March 10, 2024, the body of the renowned cardiologist was found by a relative in his house in Chemnitz. It was quickly established that Kleinertz had died "as a result of violence", as the police announced at the time. Shortly after the discovery, two people from the couple's circle of acquaintances, a woman (52) and a man (62), were arrested. The victim's wife has also been in custody since Tuesday. The public prosecutor's office suspects that she killed her husband together with the two other suspects.

In the course of the investigation, the authorities came across financial difficulties surrounding the riding stables that Annegret B. ran after her father handed them over. Despite lavish equipment, including a horse solarium, business was going badly.
A neighbor explained that the vet had even put the farm up for sale to pay off her debts. By marrying the wealthy Dr. Kleinertz, a financial solution was suddenly within reach, according to "Bild".
It is still unclear whether a dispute over money was the motive for the crime. The investigation by the police and the public prosecutor's office is in full swing, but so far all three suspects have remained silent. "None of the suspects has yet commented on the allegation", explained the public prosecutor's office.
