According to official reports from Kiev, Russian soldiers have once again killed Ukrainian prisoners of war. A video shows five captured Ukrainians being shot by the Russians, Ukrainian human rights commissioner Dmytro Lubinez wrote on Telegram. "Russian war criminals who shoot Ukrainian prisoners of war must be brought before an international tribunal and face the harshest punishment provided for by law," he demanded.

The killing of prisoners of war is internationally regarded as a war crime. The Russian side in particular is repeatedly accused of such atrocities. In an interview conducted in mid-December, Lubinez put the number of confirmed cases at 177 since the start of the war. The numbers are rising dramatically. This year alone, there have been 109 executions, Lubinez announced.
