On the first anniversary of the Hamas massacre in Israel, Israeli President Izchak Herzog appealed to the world to support the country in its fight against its enemies.

"It is a scar on humanity, a scar on the face of the earth," he said at the site of the Nova music festival near the Gaza border, where terrorists from Hamas and other extremist groups carried out one of their massacres exactly one year ago.

"The world must realize and understand that it must support Israel in the battle against its enemies in order to change the course of history and bring peace and a better future to the (Middle East) region," he continued. Israel would fight a battle for the free world.

On October 7 last year, the Islamist Hamas and its allies attacked southern Israel. In the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, the terrorists murdered more than 1,200 people at the site of the Nova music festival as well as in numerous kibbutzim and other locations and abducted around 250 more as hostages in the Gaza Strip.
