According to Israel's army, it has recovered another body of a hostage in the Gaza Strip. It was an Arab Israeli aged 53, according to a military spokesperson. His son, who had also been kidnapped, had also been found, raising "serious concern" for his life. The young man is reportedly 22 years old. Until now, it was assumed in Israel that father and son were still alive.

The father's body was found on Tuesday in a tunnel in the Rafah area. He had been killed in captivity, the army added.
Both had been abducted on October 7, 2023 during the Hamas massacre in the Gaza Strip. Two other children of the 53-year-old were also abducted at the time. The youngsters were released in November 2023 as part of an agreement between Hamas and Israel.
During the terrorist attack, the four were working in a kibbutz near the border with the Gaza Strip. The family belongs to a Bedouin community.
Arabs make up around 20 percent of Israel's almost ten million inhabitants. The Bedouins, in turn, belong to the Arab minority in Israel and their number is estimated at around 250,000 nationwide. Many of them serve in the Israeli army.
An army spokesman emphasized that dozens of the hostages still being held in the Gaza Strip are still alive.
