Israel's army is sending more ground troops to Lebanon. Soldiers from the 91st Division have begun operations in the south of the country, the Israeli military announced. The army published a video showing its soldiers in Lebanese territory. An Israeli army division can comprise several thousand soldiers.

Israel is keeping the exact number of soldiers in its first invasion of Lebanon in decades secret, just as it is doing in its ongoing operations in the Gaza Strip. In Lebanon, the army so far appears to be concentrating on an area near the towns of Udaissa and Kafr Kila in the south-east and around Bint Jubail in the south of Lebanon. There were apparently further clashes between Hezbollah fighters and Israeli soldiers in these areas. Hezbollah stated that it had attacked a gathering of soldiers in the border town of Marun al-Ras with rockets, among other things.
