Following the launch of a ground offensive by the Israeli army against Hezbollah in Lebanon, there had been no clashes with Israeli troops by Tuesday afternoon, according to the militia.

Hezbollah's press office told the news agency DPA: "All our fighters are ready for a real confrontation."

Meanwhile, panic spread in the south of Lebanon and chaos broke out after the Israeli military once again called for evacuations. The Israeli military had previously called on residents of almost 30 communities to flee.

Such evacuation calls are usually a sign of imminent attacks. Residents should seek safety north of the Alawi River. The area is located around 60 kilometers from the Israeli border.
