Following heavy air strikes in Lebanon, the Shia militia Hezbollah has claimed new attacks on Israel. The militia declared that it had attacked Israel at least six times since the morning with Fadi-1 and Fadi-2 rockets.

Among other things, it had attacked the Israeli military airport Megiddo west of Afula and again the Ramat David military base near the coastal city of Haifa.

Hezbollah first mentioned the use of Fadi rockets on Sunday. It also presented the missiles in a video. They are named after a militia engineer who was killed in the conflict with Israel in 1987. According to the video, the six-metre-long projectiles have a range of 70 to 100 kilometers and can carry warheads weighing around 80 to 170 kilograms. It is said to be a variant of the Chaibar-1 missile developed by Syria, which was first used by Hezbollah in 2006.
