The pro-Iranian Hezbollah in Lebanon has officially claimed responsibility for the drone attack on the Israeli coastal town of Caesarea at the weekend. It was aimed at the "criminal Netanyahu", as a Hezbollah spokesman said at a press conference.

Israeli media reported that a drone hit and damaged the bedroom window of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence in Caesarea on Saturday. However, Mr. and Mrs. Netanyahu were not present at the time. According to the Israeli army, no one was injured in the attack.

Evacuation order and attack during press conference

At the press conference in a southern suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut, Hezbollah admitted for the first time that the Israeli army had arrested fighters from the Shia militia. Until now, the Iranian-backed terrorist organization had not commented on this.

During the press conference, the Israeli military issued an evacuation order for two buildings just a few hundred meters from the site of the event. Many local and foreign journalists were on site. Shortly afterwards, Israel's army attacked the building.
