Israel Hamas authority: 50 dead in attack on building in Beit Lahia

At least 50 people have been killed in an Israeli air strike on a building in the north of the Gaza Strip, according to the Hamas-controlled health authority.

Among the victims were five employees of a neighboring clinic in the city of Beit Lahia, according to a statement by the authority and the director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital, Hussam Abu Safeia. The victims are said to be a pediatrician, a laboratory technician, two paramedics and a technician.

The information could not initially be independently verified. The Israeli army did not initially comment on the report when asked.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military reported one soldier killed in fighting in the north of the Gaza Strip.
