Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has released her first campaign commercial. The clip, just under a minute and a half long, features the song "Freedom" by US superstar Beyoncé, which has also been played at Harris' campaign events. "In this election, each of us is faced with the question of what kind of country we want to live in," says the US Vice President in the video. She was nominated on Sunday by her boss, US President Joe Biden, as the Democrats' replacement candidate for the November election after he withdrew.

"There are people who think we should be a country of chaos, fear and hatred, but we, we choose something different. We choose freedom," the 59-year-old continued in the background. It's about the freedom of people to make decisions about their own bodies and the freedom to live in safety from gun violence.

"We are choosing a future where no child lives in poverty, where we can all afford healthcare and where no one is above the law." The video includes appearances by the Democrat and newspaper clippings with headlines about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
