Death Emmental building contractor Bruno Marazzi dies
Emmental building contractor Bruno Marazzi died the day before Christmas Eve at the age of 78 after a short, serious illness. Among other things, Marazzi built the Stade de Suisse football stadium in Bern's Wankdorf district.

"The fact that Bern (and YB) now has a wonderful, modern stadium is largely thanks to him, Bruno Marazzi," wrote the Bernese football club YB on the death of the entrepreneur. Various media outlets had previously reported the news.
Marazzi was born in Langnau im Emmental in 1946 and took over his parents' construction company in 1971. In 1972, he and his wife founded Marazzi Generalunternehmung AG in Bern, which developed into one of the leading general contractors in Switzerland.
In 2006, he sold his company to Losinger Construction SA, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction SA Paris, but remained active as a board member and consultant.
